I mentioned in my Journal Entry that this album has been a Team effort with my family members. Now, I want to give my family specific credit and thanks for helping and contributing. I look forward to making a lot more great music with you.

John Pachence - John has been my artistic guide, special effects guru, and sound engineer in this project, not to mention that he plays a mean piano on a few tracks. I record the songs in my home studio and John takes those tracks and makes them sound a thousand times better. In a way, he’s my sound magician; pulling music out of my musical hat. John is also professional songwriter and performer who plays around the Philadelphia area frequently. Please visit his website at www.johnpachence.com.
CJ McKenna – a long time friend and musical mentor…You can hear CJ’s wonderful harmonica contributions in both “Rhyme Time” and “Rat, Cat & Cow Blues”. There’s nothing that makes a song like a great harmonica part, and CJ certainly helped me out on this one. CJ is also a professional songwriter and performer who plays around the Pocono Mountains area in the duo Kate & CJ.
YOU – We need for you to be a part of “Team Music” by telling your friends about Nina and Scrappy and encouraging them to listen and participate. We’d like to send our heartfelt thanks to anyone one buys a song or a cd…it’s because of you that we are able to continue to pursue our dream.
Sophie – My friend Sophie contributes vocals on a few songs…“Rhyme Time”, “Up There”, “Toothbrush” and, I think Sophie’s favorite song, “Pickle”.
Sophia – My friend Sophia also contributed vocals for “Up There” and “Pickle”.
Annie – Annie is part of the choral group singing on “Rhyme Time’, “Up There” and “Pickle”.
Dina Hall – Dina is a long-time friend, musical collaborator and graphic artist. We’ve played together for a long time as a duo and as part of Jackknife Betty. However, this time I asked her to lend her graphic design talents…she actually designed the website for this whole crazy thing. We think she did a great job, and you can check out her website at www.dinahall.com.
Jillian – my now 8 year old niece – Jillian wrote most of the lyrics for the “Rat, Cat and Cow Blues” at the tender age of 6. I added some additional lyrics and wrote the music, but the story as she wrote it is still intact. It’s a great little story and I just love the repetition…
Eric – my 2nd oldest brother – Eric is helping me produce the songs. This is a HUGE responsibility, because Eric has to understand and help me create the musical “vision” for each song. Eric gets to tell me what he likes and doesn’t like as we develop each song and what instruments we should use or not use. Eric has also written and performed all of the bass lines and played the drums in “Shake, Shake, Shake” and “Firefly”. Oh, and he’s also singing harmonies and doing some percussion work.
Beth – my older sister - The melody and lyrics for “Fishing Hole” were written by Beth. I added the instrumentation, but this is Beth’s song. I love this song, too. Beth is also helping me with putting together a nice wardrobe…no small feat, and I really appreciate her visual talents with this.
Mark – my oldest brother - Mark wrote the lyrics for “Pickle”. Mark also contributed the voice of the Ringmaster and additional lyrics in the song “Circus” and “Firefly”. In addition, Mark actually drew the Rat, Cat & Cow that we’ll be using on merchandise. Isn’t he talented?
Jonathan – 17 year old nephew – Jonathan is a fabulous drummer and wrote the drum part for “Firefly”, although Eric performed it on the recording. Jonathan also wrote this really cool little rhythm in “Toothbrush” during the chorus parts.
Aunt Nina – My Aunt Nina has composed a song to help kids learn about the parts of a bug. It’s not entirely completed yet, but it just makes me laugh, so I wanted to include it.
Nancy – sister-in-law – Nancy is lending her merchandising expertise to us by helping us find great products that represent the values of Scrappy and Nina.
Gabriella & Dakota – my 12-year old niece – Gabs and her friend Dakota wrote a really neat tune about ice cream. This song is going to be on the next cd.
The rest of the gang: Everyone has been offering their feedback as I asked for it, and I appreciate their thoughtfulness and willingness to help.
